IT Operations Focus Board
The operating review. A time-boxed packet across the four domains, ranked by impact versus the time available in that horizon.
Dashboards
At a Glance opens the review: restore, recurrence, change risk, and CMDB ownership on one view.
Analyses
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. Each list is limited to the time in that horizon. Selected items go to Action Planner.
Service Restoration and SLA Performance
Are we restoring service fast enough, and for the right services? A closed ticket is not the same as a restored service.
Dashboards
SLA attainment, restore time, and reopen rate by service and queue, so you can see which services miss the commitment and which queues are stuck.
Analyses
Analysis reads incidents, SLAs, outages, and assignment. The work is a shorter restore on the services that matter, and an outage record that matches the event.
Recurrence Prevention
Why the same failure is recurring, and who is assigned to make it stop.
Dashboards
Repeat incidents, the problem backlog, and which closed problems left only a workaround, so you can see what is going to happen again.
Analyses
Analysis looks for repeat incidents with no problem, a known error the service desk cannot use, and close codes that hide a repeating cause. The next occurrence is recorded against the existing problem.
Change Risk and Operational Stability
Are production changes creating the next set of incidents?
Dashboards
Change success, the emergency mix, and missing backout plans, set against the incidents those changes caused, so you can see which changes are creating the next outage.
Analyses
Analysis joins change requests to the incidents they cause: emergency changes, empty backout plans, and changes marked successful while incidents are already linked. The backout plan is written before the change window.
Configuration Reality and Service Ownership
Whether incident and change records point at the real service, the CI, and the owner.
Dashboards
CI completeness, missing owners, and whether priority work points at a real CI or service, so you can see where the other topics are reading a bad record.
Analyses
Analysis flags critical work with no CI, offerings with no owner, and retired CIs still marked operational. The other three topics inherit this record.
Your own topics
Test analytical prompts on your IT Service Management data, then publish the dashboards and analysis topics that hold up for the people who use them.
Try the prompt first
Run it on the incidents, changes, and CIs in front of you. Keep the result when it answers the question you brought.
Publish for consumers
A published dashboard or analysis topic is what consumers open, next to the five that already ship.
Action Planner
A finding on an analysis section, or on the conclusion, becomes a project with a title, tasks, priorities, and dates. Each task is assigned to a person, with a due date and a definition of done. An insight only changes the work if someone is accountable for it.
